What does it mean for a school to “beat expectations”?
In Duval County, like much of the U.S., poverty is closely linked with standardized test scores.
To see which schools truly outperform, we compared reading and math proficiency rates to what would be expected at each school’s level of economic disadvantage, based on a regression line. Hover over or search for your school to see how it stacks up.
Reading Proficiency vs. Poverty
Math Proficiency vs. Poverty
Each dot is a Duval County school. The x-axis shows the percentage of economically disadvantaged students; the y-axis shows proficiency rates (reading or math). The regression line predicts expected proficiency by poverty; dots above the line “beat expectations.”
Color indicates performance: above (blue), meets (grey), or below (orange).
